Question of the week:

We’re seeing a fast acceleration towards digital sales, be it self-serve tools such as online calculators, self-serve demos, self-serve pricing, self-serve to book into your diary instantly, a chatbot to answer questions and this isn’t just for B2C, we’re seeing this in high-end B2B enterprise corporate too.

The days of responding in 2 business days are well and truly gone.

71% of customers expect a real-time response, and by next year, 80% of B2B Sales between suppliers and customers will be digital (Gartner).

The digital shift might seem daunting, so let’s break it down. What’s the first step on your digital sales journey?

What are we testing?

Staying on theme, we’re currently testing Calendly as a direct booking on our website. Truth bomb, I’ve been behind on this as I was nervous we would get spam bookings; however, so far (8 weeks in), it is working incredibly well and allowing prospects/customers to self-serve. In B2B, we are seeing the same demand and the same expectations that we’ve become accustomed to in B2C (think automatically booking in with your physio or doctor!)

What I’m reading?

Over the holiday, I read The Almanack of Naval Ravikant. Naval is an Angel Investor and Entrepreneur.

There were a lot of takeaways for me, but a couple that stuck with me were:
  • Look for automated income streams that make money whilst you sleep
  • Happiness is a choice; happiness is peace, not Joy
  • If you’re unsure about a decision, then the answer is NO
  • Earn with your mind and not your time
  • A good reputation is an invaluable asset
  • Build good systems that will build the habits

“The three big ones in life are wealth, health, and happiness. We pursue them in that order, but their importance is reversed.”
Until next time.
